Pastor Stein is the senior pastor and has served this congregation for over 20 years. He is married to Cathy and has two grown children, Emily (Jake) Brunner and Matthew Stein. He is also the proud grandpa of Lexi and Peyton Brunner.
After graduating from Concordia Seminary in Exile in St. Louis, Missouri in 1976, Pastor Stein served parishes in Cleveland Hts., Ohio and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago in 1992.
Pastor Stein enjoys developing new ministries at church. When members get excited about exercising their faith in new ways he is excited, too. Leading worship, the care and growth of our ministry staff, and welcoming new members are some of his favorite duties. Pastor Stein likes to try new things and enjoys their challenge.
When he is not at church Pastor Stein enjoys being Mr. Fix-it around the house and working outside as much as possible in the short Wisconsin summers. He also enjoys working out at the gym, bicycling, walking, driving his little red Miata, and spoiling his granddaughters. Yearly trips with Cathy to Door County and to somewhere warm in the winter are welcome get-aways.

Pastor Becker joyfully begins at Church of the Resurrection in September of 2009 (See more). She looks forward to getting to know the various people who make up the people of God around Church of the Resurrection and the community.
There have been many experiences that have led Pastor Becker to being a pastor and to Church of the Resurrection. Some have been striking and powerful, others have been subtle. Tugs to pastoral ministry came at various times in life: as a youth in high school, as a camp counselor, as a college student, while working at a homeless shelter through Lutheran Volunteer Corps (http://www.lutheranvolunteercorps.org//) and through study and the experience of living life. Please ask her about her various pulls to ministry sometime, and share with her how you feel called in life as well.
Pastor Becker most recently comes from Unity Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, where she served as pastor starting in June of 2005. She received an MDiv from the Lutheran School of Theology in 2005. She grew up in Woodbury, MN, where her parents continue to live, and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
As a rule of thumb, Pastor Becker’s jokes are groaners, but please humor her anyway. When she isn’t telling bad jokes, she enjoys hiking, going to see live music and shows, reading, and running.

Matthew Stein came to be a member of COR when he was only 10. Along the way, he used his piano skills to participate in worship and even lead worship in his high school years. When he graduated from Valparaiso University in 2001 with majors in Music (organ) and Computer Science he was asked to assume the role of church organist. Matt enjoys learning and teaching new worship music and liturgies. He spends his time accompanying the choirs, helping other musicians prepare for worship and, of course, practicing.
When he's not at church Matt works in the technology field as a Technical Support Manager and is usually doing some sort of repair or consulting work on the side.
Matt was invited to be the accompanist for the Jubilate Chorale in the fall of 2007 and continues to be a part of that musical group.
In his free time, Matt enjoys taking on projects around the house in hopes of saving money and learning a few things along the way.

When she isn’t working with other people’s children, Cheryl loves spending time with her three teenage daughters either shopping or watching movies.
